Upgrades...

Upgrading your machine is a great way to save money and increase the capacity of the machine.

There are one or two myths regarding upgrades as you can't always upgrade as much of your machine as you would like. Simple things to change are pci cards, such as sound and graphics cards. both of these are important regarding any games or graphics work you may do.

However, if for example you have a PII 300 mhz computer, there is no real way of upgrading to a P4 2.4ghz processor as so much of the computer would need replacing it just wouldn't be value for money!

Other easy and cost efficient upgrades would be to increase hard disk capacity, add memory or put in faster cd writers etc. All of these will help you with daily use of the machine and its reliability but won't necessarily make the machine run quicker.

A great way of increasing hard disk space is to allow us to drive image your machine and apply the image to your new hard disk. That way you have all your software loaded and even your desktop icons remain in their places.
